Mars Revisited with Steve Masakowski and Lawrence SieberthMars was the visionary band created by acclaimed New Orleans guitarist, composer, educator, and inventor Steve Masakowski in 1981. Blending jazz, electronic textures, and adventurous original compositions, the group featured Masakowski on 7-string guitar and keytar, Lawrence Sieberth on keyboards, James Singleton on bass, and the legendary James Black on drums. Their 1982 album Mars captured the bands innovative spirit and featured collaborations with artists including Dave Liebman, Patrice Fisher, Kent Jordan, and Ricky Sebastian.A longtime cornerstone of the New Orleans jazz scene, Steve Masakowski is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking work on 7-string guitar, his inventive compositions, and decades of influence as an educator and performer.
