Arecipient of the Chamber Music America Performance Plus grant, Shiraishis debutalbum featuring Herlin Riley, Max Moran, Andrew Baham and Julian Lee, is set to bereleased in 2026. Already having developed a self-assured, recognisable voice as acomposer and improviser, her music is melodically driven, harmonically rich, andimbued with swing. She has gained attention in the traditional music scene,appearing with Shannon Powell, Kermit Ruffins, Stephen Walker and thePreservation Hall All-Stars. She has also established herself as a highly sought-afterside player in the straight-ahead.Raph Zees unique approach to playing trumpet has led to them to opportunities at Jazz Fest with Trumpet Mafia and Quiana Lynell, performances with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, as well as the Treme Fall Festival and residency (fall 2019) at the Hotel Monteleone with Shannon Powell. These days, she can most consistently be found playing with The Jump Hounds, Jon Roniger, the Good For Nothin Band, and on Tuesdays at Vaughans Lounge with Orlando Lil Prince Gilbert.
