A Brooklyn native, he rose to prominence in the late 1990s as a founding member of the groundbreaking duo Black Star. His work as a solo artist and collaborator spans more than two decades and includes critically acclaimed releases, influential collaborations, and dynamic live performances. Beyond music, Kweli is also a cultural leader and entrepreneur, founding Javotti Media to amplify innovative voices in music and culture.
