Takuya Kuroda
Kobe-born, Brooklyn-based trumpeter Takuya Kuroda is dedicated, and his eighth studio record, Everyday, is proof of that. Since 2022's Midnight Crisp praised by PopMatters as a 'future classic' Kuroda has continued his daily pursuit of the 'perfect blend of production and organic performance.' Everyday dives deeper into hip-hop and neo-soul, delivering a triumph of genre-blending modern jazz with sure-footed, virtuosic playing on trumpet, synth, and Rhodes. After studying composition at The New School, Kuroda performed with DJ Premier's Badder Band and Akoya Afrobeat and recorded for Blue Note and Concord.
